After two more singles from the album stiffed Decker confronted label management for more control over her music, and her subsequent single Boys in the Summer was more of a country-centric release. The album that Decker released as Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records was shelved because Mercury saw the poor performances of three of her singles on the country charts.
